Members of the Pasay City Police - Malibay Substation arrested an 18-year-old man for possession of a replica gun and allegedly causing disturbance in the community on Sunday, Sept. 17.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the suspect as Ronilo Reyes who was arrested at around 2:00 p.m. along Apelo Cruz St., Barangay 157 Zone 16, Pasay City.
The police said Malibay police officers received a call from concerned citizens about a male individual shouting and threatening bystanders.
The police immediately responded and found the suspect armed with a gun replica and shouting “sumuko na kayo (surrender now)”.
Responding policemen discreetly approached the suspect from behind and arrested him.
The arrested suspect was brought to the Malibay substation for documentation and was turned over to the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS).
Police recovered a replica .9mm pistol equipped with a magazine containing 15 pellets.
Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or possession of a gun replica in relation to RA 7166 or the Omnibus Election Code will be filed against the suspect.
