QCPD nets P1-M marijuana, 45 drug peddlers in weeklong anti-drug ops

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P1,076,915 worth of alleged marijuana and arrested 45 drug suspects in a series of anti-drug operations conducted in the city from Sept. 10 to 16.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, QCPD director, said a total of 36 operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 45 suspects, 21 of them are alleged users while 26 are pushers.
The QCPD Payatas Bagong Silangan Station (PS 13) arrested two of the suspects, identified as Kevin Pasacay Orden, 25, and Reden Villegas Hiangan, 23, both residents of Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
The two suspects were nabbed around 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 14 inside of a house at Road 1, Purok 6, Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
According to the police report, PS 13 received information about the widespread drug activities of the suspects in the area. This prompted the authorities to carry out a buy-bust operation, resulting in their apprehension.
Seized from the suspects were around three kilograms of marijuana with an street value of P360,000, a blue bag pack, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, teams from QCPD La Loma Station (PS 1), Masambong Station (PS 2), Talipapa Station (PS3), Novaliches Station (PS 4), Batasan Station (PS 6), Cubao Station (PS 7) confiscated around P341,819.60 worth of alleged marijuana.
Also, the operatives from QCPD Project 4 Station (PS 8), Anonas Station (PS 9), Kamuning Station (PS 10), Galas Station (PS 11), Eastwood Station (PS 12), Bagong Silangan Station (PS 13), Holy Spirit Station (PS 14), Project 6 Station (PS 15), and Pasong Putik Station (PS 16) seized around P735,136,000 worth of alleged marijuana and illegal drugs paraphernalia.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
