Pateros LGU, VRP Medical Center to provide free operation to indigents
The Pateros municipal government will be providing free medical operation to residents who are indigents.
In an announcement, Mayor Miguel Ponce III and former councilor and former administrator Edgar Noel Castillo partnered with VRP Medical Center’s Department of Surgery for the program.

“Bibigyan po ng pagkakataon sumailalim sa operasyon ang ating mga kababayan na kapos sa kakayahan pinansyal na magpa opera (We will give our citizens who are lacking financially a chance to undergo operation),” the municipal government said.
Ponce told Manila Bulletin that the operations are free.
The program will cover the following procedures:
A. MINOR SURGERY:
1. Mga bukol sa suso (breast lump)
2. Mga bukol sa ibang bahagi ng katawan (lumps in other parts of the body)
B. MAJOR SURGERY:
1. Bato sa apdo (gallbladder stones)
2. Luslos (hernia)
3. Almoranas (hemorrhoids)
4. Kanser sa suso (breast cancer)
5. Bukol sa bituka (lump in intestine)
6. Fistula at pigsa sa pwet (boil on buttocks)
7. Appendicitis
8. Bosyo at ibang bukol sa leeg (goiter and other lumps in the neck)
The municipal government added that a date will be announced where doctors from the VRP Medical Center can examine the patients who will be recommended by the Municipal Health Center and will be processed by Castillo at VRP.
All the operations will be done at the VRP Medical Center. Among the documents that will be processed are those related to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and certificate of indigency. The Office of the Mayor will provide transportation to patients.
“Sa pamamagitan nito, ang inyong Pamahalaang Bayan ay makakatulong sa mga kapuspalad na mamayang taga Pateros (Through this, your municipal government can help to indigent residents of Pateros),” the municipal government said.
