The Pasay City government conducted a coastal clean-up along Central Park of SM By that Bay, Mall of Asia on Saturday, Sept. 16 in celebration of International Coastal Clean-up (ICC).

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the costal clean-up was done in partnership with SM Prime Holdings, Inc., SM By the Bay, and SM Cares, together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The celebration of ICC, with the theme “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries” aimed to clean the marine environment and protect its resources.
About 56 sacks of garbage and other debris were collected during the clean-up drive.
The mayor thanked the participants from the local government unit, the police, teachers, and students who participated in the clean-up drive.
“Here in Pasay City, with our grand vision of being smart and sustainable, we are at the forefront of doing everything that we can for the environment. As a future EcoCity, it is through drives like this that we are reminded that we are on the right path -- the path to an environmentally-conscious city, the path to wide-scale progress and development,” Rubiano said.
