Man arrested for indiscriminate firing

NASUGBU, Batangas – A 30-year-old man was arrested for indiscriminate firing in Barangay Dayap here on Sunday evening, September 17.

Police identified the suspect as Julie Samonteza, a resident of Barangay Bunducan, this town.

Lawmen arrived after a concerned citizen reported that the suspect was indiscriminately firing his gun and caused fear among residents.

The suspect fired at responding policemen, prompting Police Corporal Rommel Sambat to retaliate.  

Samonteza was hit in the left leg and taken to the hospital by the police.

The suspect yielded a caliber 9mm pistol and 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000.

He is now in the custody of the police and appropriate charges will be filed against him.
