ITCZ to affect parts of Luzon, Visayas; PAGASA not ruling out possibility of LPA
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) currently affecting Mindanao may move up and affect portions of Visayas and Southern Luzon with rain showers this week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday, Sept. 18.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja also noted that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) might develop within the ITCZ.
“Possible po na may mabuo na circulation or Low Pressure Area hanggang sa Friday doon po sa loob ng ITCZ habang nasa may silangan po ng ating kapuluan. (It is possible that a circulation or Low Pressure Area will develop until Friday within the ITCZ while in the east portion of the country)," Estareja said.
In Mindanao, including Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Region, and mainland Palawan, PAGASA said that heavy rain showers at night until early morning that may cause flash floods and landslides are expected due to ITCZ.
Cloudy skies in the morning with isolated rain showers at night will also be experienced in Visayas due to localized thunderstorms on Sept. 19.
PAGASA said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be expected in Mindanao while rain showers at night will be experienced on Sept. 19 due to ITCZ.
Based on the weather outlook of PAGASA, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be experienced in Metro Manila while hot and humid weather at noon with rain showers at night are expected in the next three days. (Lizst Torres Abello)
