CSC spearheads nationwide simultaneous activities for 123rd PCSA


As part of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Civil Service Commission (CSC) led nationwide simultaneous fun runs, trail hikes, and tree planting events.

Metro Manila and Region IV CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles expressed his gratitude toward other government agencies who joined the said event and emphasized that the anniversary is not just for the CSC but for the 1.9 million government workforce nationwide.

"Sa Plant-Run po na ito natin makikita na tayong mga civil servants, isinasabuhay natin ang lagi nating sinusumpa tuwing Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat at Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan - ang pagiging maka-kalikasan (In this Plant-Run initiative, we civil servants can see that we are living up to what we always pledge during the Oath of Allegiance to the Flag and Oath of Public Service - our commitment to environmental stewardship)," Nograles said in a statement on Monday, Sept. 18.

Nograles also conveyed his congratulatory remark to CSC Regional Office IV Regional Director Maria Leticia G. Reyna for organizing the said event.

The funds earned from fun runs, trail hikes, and tree-planting events will go to Pamanang Lingkod Bayani, a program that honors government workers who died in the line of duty.

This program provides one-time financial assistance and scholarship opportunities to their family members.

Moreover, the Region IV CSC Chairperson emphasized that the total number of attendees exceeded expectations by 180 percent.

"Time and time again, when we organize events that showcase the unity of civil servants with a good cause, we truly express our love for the country and our love for the environment," Nograles said.

Along with Chairperson Nograles were Tanay Municipal Mayor Rafael A. Tanjuatco, Anti-Red Tape Authority Director General Ernesto Perez, Laguna Lake Development Authority General Manager Senando A. Santiago, Bureau of Fire Protection Calabarzon Fire Senior Inspector Argie J. Baniel, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Forester Ramil Limpiada, Philippine National Police Rizal Province OIC Provincial Director PCOL Rainerio M. De Chavez and Bureau of Customs Commissioner Guillermo Parayno Jr.

CSC Assistant Commissioners Ariel G. Ronquillo, Karin Litz P. Zerna, Judith A. Dongallo-Chicano, Nerissa B. Canguilan; CSC NCR Director IV Victoria F. Esber; and Public Assistance and Information Office Director Maria Luisa Salonga-Agamata are also present in the event.

Meanwhile, among government agencies that attended the event are the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Space Agency, Philippine Statistics Authority, Bureau of Immigration, Human Settlements Adjudication Commission, and National Museum.  

Representatives from the Office of the President, Bureau of Broadcast Services, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Normal University, Development Academy of the Philippines, Tanay Water District, Government Service and Insurance System, National Council on Disability Affairs, Philippine Commission on Good Governance, Office of Civil Defense, Philippine National Police, and Philippine Army were also among the attendees.
