After a decade of selecting random numbers, a 78-year-old bettor finally chose the perfect combination of digits and became a lotto millionaire.
"The Bulakenya shared that she randomly picked her winning combination, as she had been doing for over a decade," the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Monday, Sept. 18.

“Salamat sa Panginoon. Hiling ko talaga ito sa Panginoong Diyos, pinagdarasal ko na patamain niya ako. Maraming salamat PCSO! (Thank you to the Lord. I really wished for this from the Lord, I prayed that he would bless me. Thank you very much PCSO!)," she told the agency.

Since the grand prize exceeded P10,000, a 20 percent tax deduction shall apply under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law.
As per Republic Act (RA) 1169, lotto tickets have a one-year validity, and if the jackpot prize remains unclaimed, it will be forfeited and added to the PCSO Charity Fund.
"They must also write their names, sign on the back of the winning ticket, and present two government-issued IDs to facilitate the claiming process," PCSO reminded.
