60 village, SK bets unopposed in Batangas City

BATANGAS CITY – Sixty candidates in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30 here are unopposed.

The Commission on Elections in this city said 30 candidates are running for barangay chairman and 30 for SK chairman.

A total of 3,200 candidates are vying in 105 barangays here.

On Saturday, September 16, the Batangas police spearheaded a unity walk and signing of a peace covenant to ensure a peaceful, honest, and fair elections.

Batangas police chief Police Col. Samson Belmonte led the event which affirmed the duties and responsibilities of Comelec officials, non-government organizations, related government agencies, and security forces on October 30.
