While there is no tropical cyclone that is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), it is possible for a Low Pressure Area (LPA) which is embedded with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) to develop in the following days according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Sept. 17.

PAGASA said the ITCZ is still affecting Mindanao and will also affect Visayas in the coming days.

"Patuloy po yung ITCZ sa mga susunod na araw dito po sa malaking bahagi ng Mindanao and even Visayas hanggang sa kalagitnaan po ng linggong ito. (The ITCZ will prevail in the following days in huge portions of Mindanao and even Visayas until the middle of this week)," PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

"Samantala, bagamat wala naman tayong nakikitang bagyo na papasok ng Philippine area of responsibility in the next three days, possible naman po na may mabuong circulation or Low Pressure Area na naka-embed dito sa ITCZ sa mga susunod na araw. (Meanwhile, although we do not see tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine area of responsibility, it is possible that a circulation or Low Pressure Area that is embedded with the ITCZ develops in the following days)," he added.

Meanwhile, rain showers are also expected in the next few hours until early morning in most of the country including Northern and Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Visayas due to localized thunderstorms,

PAGASA said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies will be experienced on Sept. 18 in Luzon including Metro Manila and Visayas with brief rain showers in the morning, while humid weather at noon with localized thunderstorms at night are expected.

In the next three days, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms in Metro Manila will be experienced, while the ITCZ will still prevail in Visayas and Mindanao as per the report. (Lizst Torres Abello)
