Man drowns on Rizal river, body carried 30 kilometers away to Quezon

GENERAL NAKAR, Quezon – The body of a 53-year-old man who drowned on September 4 on the Agos River in Sitio Old Laiban, Barangay Laiban, Tanay, Rizal was found floating 30 kilometers away in Sitio Neo, Barangay Pagsangahan, this town, on Saturday afternoon, September 17.

General Nakar Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Erberto Astera identified the victim as Fernando Cañeda, a resident of Sitio Old Laiban.

Astera said they received information that a body was found floating on the river at around 3 p.m. It was retrieved and brought to Saint Peter Funeral Homes here and has been claimed by his family.
