Gov't bent on easing traffic woes, Marcos tells letter sender
Responding to a letter sent to him on his birthday, President Marcos vowed that the administration will do all it can to solve the country's traffic congestion problems.

Marcos has featured in his vlog some letters, mostly birthday greetings, sent to him by supporters and visitors who have been to the Malacañan Palace.
One of the letters read: Dear BBM, please remove traffic in the Philippines.
The President responded, saying he understands the worsening traffic condition in the country and promised that steps to decongest roads are being undertaken.
"Naintindihan ko. Lahat tayo ayaw ng traffic na 'yan (I understand. All of us do not want traffic)," Marcos said.
"Gagawin namin ang lahat kaya naglalagay kami ng mga tren, naglalagay kami ng mga bagong kalsada para mabawasan na yung traffic at hindi na kayo masyadong mahirapan (We will do everything that is why we are putting new trains, building new roads in order to decongest traffic and to ease your burden)," Marcos added.
It was the same commitment the President made in July this year during the signing of a loan agreement for the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP).
He said his administration will work hard to improve the country's public transportation system in a bid to resolve traffic conditions that slow down national development.
"I assure my fellow Filipinos that your government is working hard to improve the country's transportation systems, operations, and management for the benefit of present and future generations," he then said.
"We need to work together to pursue the much-needed modernization of our transport system in vital parts of the country, whether through better roads, highways, and even railways," he added.
The DPTMP will have an integrated network of 29 routes connecting major commercial centers in Davao City. It was envisioned as early as 2010 with the help of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
