TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Region 2 has provided assistance to residents affected by a magnitude-6.3 earthquake in Calayan, Cagayan recently.
DSWD-Region 2 Director Lucia Alan visited two families affected by the earthquake.
A child injured in the earthquake was transferred to Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) here.
His hospitalization was free but the DSWD provided P10,000 assistance.
The local government unit of Calayan gave P11,000 assistance to the victim while recuperating in the hospital.
Alan said that Mayor Joseph Llopis of Calayan is looking for an area where the two affected families can be relocated as their houses are no longer safe for dwelling.
