TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported 40 sore eyes cases in Cagayan daily.
Nestor Santiago of PESU said most of those affected by sore eyes are from here and most of them are children.
According to Aisha Rowena Arce of the Department of Health-Region 2, the reason for the spread of sore eye is due to the changing weather.
To avoid the spread of sore eyes, wash hands with soap and water. An alcohol-based sanitizer can also be used to sanitize hands.
Consult immediately when experiencing symptoms of sore eyes for appropriate treatment.
Sore eyes or conjunctivitis is an infection or irritation in the eye caused by microbes. Its common symptoms are redness, swelling, and itchy or painful feeling.
