The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a public warning against the purchase and use of an "unregistered" food product that has not undergone the agency's strict evaluation process.

The FDA, on Sept. 15, specifically cautioned healthcare professionals and the general public against acquiring and consuming the unregistered food product known as "WANRENTANG Barley Seedling Powder Solid Drink."
Through online monitoring and post-marketing surveillance, the FDA has verified that the aforementioned food product lacks proper registration and that no corresponding Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) has been issued.
In accordance with Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the "Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009," any activities related to the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, offering for sale, distribution, transfer, non-consumer use, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship of health products without the proper authorization are strictly prohibited, as per FDA.
Due to the absence of an FDA evaluation, the agency cannot guarantee the quality and safety of this food product.
The FDA strongly advised all concerned establishments and entities to refrain from distributing these violative drug products until they have obtained the necessary authorization.
Failure to comply with this warning will result in regulatory actions and sanctions, as emphasized by the FDA. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
