Manila-based Russian actress Elena Kozlova and businessman Raymond Yap married during a solemn ceremony held at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The couple exchanged heartfelt vows in an afternoon ceremony witnessed by their closest family and friends. The reception followed at the Manila Hotel. The reception followed at the Manila Hotel.

Raymond is the cousin of Dr. Emilio C. Yap III, Manila Bulletin President and Vice Chairman of the Board.

Based on her Instagram, Elena said she came to Manila and "stayed for love.” She has done several modeling gigs for famous brands in the country.

Elena, 29, describes herself as a "Filipino by heart."

When she celebrated her birthday in January, Elena created a Facebook fundraiser for LifeChild Asia Foundation Children's Homes.

"LifeChild Asia Foundation is operating an orphanage model that reflects a community of families rather than an institution. Three homes are now complete! Our community is surrounded by pineapple farms in Silang, Cavite, Philippines (about an hour south of Manila). Partner with us in this incredible project by donating financially or visiting us!" Elena wrote on Facebook.

According to an interview by Preview in 2022, Elena graduated with distinction from Russia’s Altai State University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Altai State Technology University. Not only that, but she also interned for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the same interview, Elena said her original plan was to stay in the country for three months. But fate took a turn when she met her future husband.

“After a few dates, I already knew that for him, I would make the Philippines my home,” Elena said.
