Lone gunman shoots motorcycle mechanic dead

BACOLOD CITY – A motorcycle mechanic was shot dead by a lone gunman in Sitio Talave, Barangay Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, September 13.

Police identified the victim as Jonril Pancho, 39, of Barangay Buenavista, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, deputy chief of the San Carlos City Police Station, said the victim and his cousin were on their way home on board a motorcycle when Pancho was shot by the perpetrator.

The suspect fled, leaving the victim’s cousin unharmed.

Pancho sustained two bullet wounds in the chin and was declared dead in a hospital.

Police recovered from the crime scene two fired cartridges of a .45 caliber pistol.

Villasario said they have yet to identify the perpetrator or determine the motive of the incident.
