After five years, former couple Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion crossed paths again during the media conference for their upcoming "Dear Heart 2023" concert held at Okada Manila in Paranaque City last Friday, Sept. 15.

As Sharon walked towards the stage, Gabby prepared to present her with a beautiful bouquet. The actor said: "Bago ang lahat, binili ko pa ito sa Quiapo eh."

Sharon accepted the flowers. She told Gabby: "Thank you so much. Thank you sa aking producers."

Gabby told Sharon: "Sabi ko sa kanila kanina, pagkatapos ko rito, alis ako, baka hindi tayo magkita. Puwede bang mag-hug bago ako umalis?"

The actor continued: "Uulitin ko ang sinabi ko nun. Ladies and gentlemen, on stage, I give to you, Miss Sharon...Concepcion na nga ito eh...Sharon na lang. Okay maraming salamat po. "We'll see you. Pa-kiss uli." Then her former husband said: "Okay, one more. Sa lips naman, sa lips. Biro lang. Biro lang po. One shot." After the quick photo opportunity, Gabby said: "Ingat po kayo." Then he left the stage. "Take care 'cause we care."

This is the first time the estranged couple met again weeks before the staging of their reunion concert entitled, "Dear Heart," at the Mall of Asia Arena on Oct. 27. The last time they saw each other was at the Gabay Guro event hosted by PLDT in 2018.

"Dear Heart" is the title of the 1981 blockbuster movie starring Sharon and Gabby. They started dating during the shoot of the film. On Sept. 23, 1984, they got married. They have a daughter KC Concepcion. Sharon and Gabby separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.

Asked about the happy times with Gabby, Sharon said: "I will always be thankful that he's my daughter's father. I will always respect the good times that we shared. I will never forget that fondness. It's so funny to get to the Dear Heart concert. It's been so long. One day, I watched Dear Heart on YouTube. I long to see the purity and innocence...where we started. And then, in the end, I realized that was the boy I fell in love with. That moment in time, who Gabby was, what he was, during those times."

On Gabby, Sharon described Gabby when they were together as "malambing."

She added: "That's what we had in common. He was sweet, he was sincere, and I felt loved."

Sharon said she's excited for the reunion concert. "It's a brand new experience na meron kaming gagawin together. Okay naman. Excited. Masaya."

Fans of Sharon and Gabby will witness a historic moment as the iconic pair reunites for "Dear Heart 2023" at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Oct. 27.

The magic doesn't end there. A special VIP Night will be held at Okada Manila's Grand Ballroom on Oct. 30. 

For the fans in the South, "InLife's Dear Heart In Cebu City" is scheduled at the NuStar's Convention Center on Nov. 17. 

"If everything goes well, we might take it abroad. If it does not go well, I will go on tour. I don't know him na eh. It's been so long. Siyempre yung kilala kong Gabby yung minahal ko noon. Hindi ko alam kung iba na siya. KKB na kami. Kanya-kanyang buhay," she added.
