"Yung mahinang habagat ay tuluyan pong kumikilos palayo sa ating kalupaan (The weak southwest monsoon is continuously moving away from the landmass),” PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar D. Aurelio said.

Aurelio said that there is no Low Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

However, PAGASA said that cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in Palawan.

“Ang Palawan ay makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may tiyansa ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm (Palawan will experience cloudy skies with a chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms),” Aurelio explained.

For the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao, partly cloudy skies with humid weather conditions at noon and isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms are expected.

“Ang nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila, ganun din sa buong Kabisayaan at Mindanao ay magiging maganda at maaliwalas ang panahon (The remaining parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, as well as the entire Visayas and Mindanao, will have good and fair weather),” he added.

Based on PAGASA’s weather outlook, the southwest monsoon or "habagat" is expected to not affect the country on Sept. 17.

With this, generally, fair weather conditions are expected in Metro Manila, Baguio City, Legazpi City, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao with chances of localized thunderstorms causing sudden rain showers for the next three days according to PAGASA. (Lizst Torres Abello)
