3 dead in motorcycle collision in Cebu

CEBU CITY – Three persons were killed in a collision between two big bikes on Transcentral Highway in Barangay Gaas, Balamban, Cebu on Saturday morning, September 16.

Police identified the fatalities as George Untalan, 54, Dominador Bragat Jr., 34, and Kate Ponce.

Ponce was the back rider of the motorcycle driven by Bragat.

Police said the two motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions when Untalan tried to overtake another vehicle in the downhill portion of the highway.

Untalan encroached on the opposite lane and collided with the motorcycle driven by Bragat when he reached a curve.

The motorcycle riders were thrown off because of the impact.

The victims were taken to the Balamban Provincial Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.
