Police seize P3 million shabu in Taguig


The Taguig police scored a big haul in their anti-illegal drugs operations when they seized P3 million worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) on Sept. 14. 

Operatives from the police station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Substation 9 conducted a buy-bust operation in the Al-Irshad Mosque Compound on Road 14 in Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig that also resulted in the arrest of two suspects.

Southern Police District (SPD) chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano identified the arrested suspects as Empoy Cayagcag, 54, and Mecky Untua, 42.

During the operation, the police seized nine plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 450 grams with a value of P3.06 million. They also recovered the buy-bust money used consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill with 59 pieces of P1,000 boodle money. 

The suspects, along with the illegal drugs, will be transferred to the SPD Forensic Unit. 

“The Southern Police District is more committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community by relentlessly pursuing individuals involved in drug-related activities“, said Mariano. .
