Pasig City invites public to join ‘Kalyesugan’ community bike ride

The Pasig City local government is inviting citizens and the public to join the “Kalyesugan” community bike ride activity this coming Saturday, Sept. 23.

The bike ride will be held at the Emerald Avenue in Ortigas from 5 a.m. onwards.

It will be conducted as part of the celebrations for World Car-Free Day and World Environmental Health Day.

The activity was organized in partnership with the Pasig City Health Department (CHD), City Transportation Development and Management Office (CTDMO), Decathalon Pasig, Bicycle Friendly Philippines, Pinay Bike Commuter Community, and Pasig Siklisto Pilipino.

Through cycling, the local government and affiliated groups aim to encourage citizens to engage in healthy lifestyles while promoting ways to reduce carbon emissions commonly emitted by cars.

Individuals who are interested in participating may register at the CTDMO Room at the fourth floor of the Pasig City Hall from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

They may also drop by Decathalon-Pasig’s branch at Tiendesitas to register.

Non-cyclists are also invited to join the festivities since the event will offer free bike lessons.
