CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police arrested 161 wanted persons in manhunt operations in the Caraga region from September 6 to 12.
The PRO-13 Regional Operations Division (ROD) said 34 were listed as MWPs – one on the regional, 13 on the provincial, nine on the city, and 11 on the municipal level.
Lawmen in the two Surigao provinces nabbed 71, including eight provincial-level and six municipal-level MWPs. The Butuan City Police Office apprehended 25, including a city-level MWP.
The Regional Intelligence Division, together with Lianga Municipal Police Station (MPS), caught the Regional Top 1 MWP charged with rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. The court recommended no bail for the suspect.
PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. John Kirby Kraft thanked the community for information leading to the arrest of these suspects.
“We were able to arrest these fugitives because of the help of the community and all stakeholders in the process,” Kraft said. “Rest assured that with your cooperation, we will be fervent with our intelligence-driven operations to capture those who are still on the loose.”
