12 hurt in jeepney crash in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Twelve persons were injured in a jeepney accident here on Thursday, September 14.

Police identified the injured as driver Lino Adjud Karil, 46, and passengers Ferlyn H. Gloria, 14; Chesla A. Unsing, 14; Rhea B. Vidal, 17; Jasmin S. Gabual, 17; Kathlenne G. Hermo, 18; Nurmina T. Sara, 23; Analene S. Abduhalim, 23; Ligaya delos Reyes, 19;  Giselle Joy Espinosa, 19; Mohammad Ramar J. Ismail, 20; and Sara Jeane Legardo, 41. 

Investigation said the jeepney was traversing the San Jose Limpapa Highway in Barangay Upper Calarian at high speed when the driver maneuvered the vehicle to the opposite lane to avoid a motorcycle but turned on its left side.

Victims sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The motorcycle was hit and sustained damage and was left behind by the roadside.
