Tricycle driver yields P400,000 in buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested a tricycle driver in a buy-bust operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, this city,  on Wednesday, September 13.

Police Capt. Glenn Montaño, head of Police Station 2, said that 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000 were confiscated from John Paul Jovero, 37, of Barangay 26 here.

Montaño said the suspect, tagged as a high-value individual, was jailed three years ago in September 2020 for a drug offense and was released two years later through plea bargaining.

Jovero's wife was also arrested for the same offense two months ago, according to Montaño.

Montaño said they placed the suspect under monitoring for about three weeks after they received information that he continued engaging in the illegal drug trade.
