Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez led the orientation for the 159 beneficiaries of the localized Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating mga Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) on Sept.13 held at the Paranaque City Sports Complex.

According to Olivarez, the localized TUPAD program, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), aims to provide temporary employment to city residents while they are still looking for permanent jobs.
The mayor said the localized TUPAD program was conducted by virtue of City Ordinance No. 59 or the “Special Employment Program for Disadvantaged Paraquenos ” which was passed by Councilor Pablo “Pao” Olivarez .
Olivarez said the localized TUPAD program is similar to the project of his brother, Rep. Edwin Olivarez , in giving temporary employment to city residents.
He said that out of the 159 residents who were given the orientation, 59 were from District 1, and 104 from District 2. They will be deployed to the city's schools for work.
The mayor said the beneficiaries will receive P610 per day or a total of P8,540 in 14 days.
Olivarez said the deployment of beneficiaries to schools will depend on which district in the city they reside in.
