MPD chief relieves 14 cops detailed at Sampaloc police precinct

The Manila Police District (MPD) reported on Thursday, Sept. 14, that 14 personnel of Sibama Police Community Precinct (PCP) under Sampaloc Police Station (PS-4) were relieved from their posts for allegedly not performing their duties.

MPD chief Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon ordered the relief of the police officers on Sept. 12 following complaints from Sampaloc residents.

The residents claimed that the police officers were not conducting security patrol and monitoring in their areas to ensure their safety.

Dizon did not disclose the identities of the relieved personnel.

"Gawin nila nang tapat at mahusay ang sinumpaang tungkulin at iparamdam nila sa mga taong nasasakupan nila na may mga pulis na p-proteksyon sa kanila (They should do their sworn duty honestly and efficiently and make the people under their jurisdiction feel that there are police officers who will protect them)," Dizon said.

Dizon said the relieved policemen will undergo re-training and will be temporarily reassigned to the District Mobile Force Battalion.
