In case you find the already eye-catching Mini selection boring, Mini Philippines has something that stands out even more. The brand unveiled their latest offerings, the Convertible Seaside Edition and Clubman Untold Edition.
Convertible Seaside Edition
The Convertible Seaside Edition is a Cooper S variant with a soft top. It's the only premium convertible in the compact segment.
It was launched in a special new maritime-inspired color, Caribbean Aqua, and also available in Nanuq White. It sports a stylised “30” graphic on the front bumper representing the models anniversary, double white stripes that run from the doors to the rear of the vehicle, and an orange Seaside decal on the rear panel which matches the badge on the side of the front fender. An interesting addition is the floating wheel center caps which always stay upright, also with the “30” graphic. The black electric soft top can be opened and closed automatically at speeds of up to 30kph.
When you open the door, you’ll find two stripes on the step board with Seaside in orange, and when you get in the lower portion of the leather wrapped steering wheel also has Seaside on it. The trim on the dashboard, printed pattern and lettering are specific to this edition, the floor mats echo this and the graphic badge. The seats offer knee rolls and armrests in the doors are in Carbon Black. The vehicle key is also edition specific, having a graphic wave pattern in iridescent blue tones.
The Mini operating system allows for quick and intuitive control of vehicle functions, entertainment, communication, navigation and apps, Apple CarPlay is available.
Mini Clubman Untold Edition
The Clubman, known for its spacious cabin and distinct rear end, has new body paint finishes and alloy wheels. Four doors, a long roofline, and the split rear door make for functionality, seats five and offers cargo space that expands from 360 to 1250 liters.
Sage Green is available for the first time on this model, with distinct front and rear aprons inspired by the John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit. The Mini surrounds of the lower sections of the body are for the first time in a dark shade of green. Five narrow, parallel sport stripes run centrally across the bonnet and roof specific to the Untold Edition, and also features on the stepboards and in logo projected from the side mirrors.
It rolls on 18” alloy wheels in the new model specific Untold Spoke design with bicolour surfaces in the Jet Black/Refined Brass combination echoed on the front grille and crossbar, as well as the Clubman lettring on the split doora on the rear. Piano Black is used extensively on the door handles, exhaust tailpipes, MINI logos and model lettering on this Untold Edition.
The exterior theme comes to the interior with the Mini Yours Leather Lounge Sage Green, with light color seams and piping along with textile insertsin the backrests add to the stylish look. The air vent surrounds are in Refined Brass. The Nappa leather steering wheel and floor mats also have the edition emblem.
Both the Mini Convertible Seaside Edition and Mini Clubman Untold Edition are powered by the same MINI TwinPower Turbocharged 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre gasoline engine that puts out 178 hp mated to a 7-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with double clutch.
And as standard, both are similarly equipped with Driver Assistant, Mini’s version of ADAS. Using a camera, it recognizes speed limit signs and reports indicates it to the driver, collision and pedestrian warning with city braking function, lane departure warning, Park Distance Control with rear sensors, rear-view camera, and cruise control with braking function. It’s also got Mini navigation system and wireless Apple CarPlay.
