The Las Piñas Veterinary Office (CVO) will conduct free neutering services on Sept. 30 at the Verdant covered court.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar is calling all eligible city residents to participate in the free neutering services by the CVO, which aims to promote responsible pet ownership and control the stray animal population.
Aguilar said residents interested in the free service may visit the covered court on Sept.15 for pre-registration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants must present a valid ID confirming their Las Piñas residency. Pets must be six months to five years-old, and healthy. Pets that are brachycephalic breeds like shih tzu, pugs and others will not be accepted.
The mayor said by partaking in the community-driven initiative, residents can contribute to a more harmonious coexistence between humans and animals in the city.
Aguilar added that the initiative aims to provide pet owners an opportunity to have their cats and dogs neutered in a safe and professional setting.
Neutering not only helps in reducing the number of stray animals but also offers various health benefits to pets, such as decreased risk of certain types of cancers and behavioral improvements, she remarked.
The CVO encourages everyone to take advantage of the service and share the information within their networks to reach as many residents as possible.
