China's global governance proposal: Uphold countries' territorial integrity
China has released its proposal on reform and global governance policy, where it asserted that "the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be upheld" and the charters of the UN must be respected.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry released President Xi Jinping's Proposal on the Reform and Development of Global Governance, which aimed at pointing the way "forward for the future development of the world" and provide "a solution for common challenges."
The comprehensive proposal cited the importance of upholding a nation's territorial integrity, among other areas of interest, to enhance "global security governance" and to safeguard "world peace and stability."

Beijing said "the purposes and principles of the UN Charter [should be] observed, and the legitimate security concerns all of sides [should be] taken seriously."
It made its call as it cited the situation between Ukraine and Russia and expressed support for political settlement of the conflict.
This came as China, on one hand, also infringes on the Philippine waters, which goes in contrast to the provisions of United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)."
All efforts conducive to a peaceful settlement of the crisis should be supported," the proposal read.
Like its pronouncements when allied nations backed the Philippines' fight for the West Philippine Sea, China called to "abandon the Cold War mentality" as well as "stop ganging up to stoke camp-based confrontation" amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
"No one gains from conflicts and wars," it said.
China acknowledged that there are "deficits in peace, development, security and government" that are "growing."
"Humanity is once again at a crossroads, and facing a consequential choice on its future," it also said.
