Bartender, senior citizen drown in Batangas

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A 24-year-old bartender and a 65-year-old man drowned while swimming in Nasugbu and Balete in Batangas province, police reported on Wednesday, September 13.

The Police Regional Office 4-A identified the victims as Mark Andrew Famor, resident of Sitio Bay-bay, Barangay Bucana, Nasugbu, and Onlimpio Bagonggong of Barangay Inosluban, Lipa City, Batangas.

Nasugbu police said Famor drowned when he was carried away by strong waves while swimming at sea. His body was recovered by Coast Guard Nasugbu Sub-station and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

No signs of torture or foul play were found in Famor’s body according to a post-mortem examination by the Nasugbu medico-legal office.

Bagonggong swam into the deep portion of a lake in Barangay Looc, Balete and drowned. He was taken by the Balete MDRRMO to a hospital where he was declared dead.
