The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO), together with other national and local agencies, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security in the municipality of Cainta, Rizal on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The ceremony, led by Rizal PPO officer-in-charge Police Col. Rainerio Chavez, was held at the Cainta Elementary School Auditorium in Barangay San Roque Cainta, Rizal.
He was joined by officials from the Cainta local government, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Rizal provincial government, Philippine National Police (PNP), and other government agencies.
The MOU denounces the terrorist/leftist groups and tags them as “persona non grata” in the municipality. It also shows that peace in the area was guaranteed through this activity.
The officials said they will continue their operations against the said groups as the number of "insurgency-free" towns in the province increases.
Cainta Mayor Maria Elenita Nieto expressed her gratitude to the government for supporting the efforts to end local communist activities in the town.
Chavez then reaffirmed the commitment of the Rizal PNP to uphold law and order and ensure the welfare of all Rizaleños through a collaborative effort to end insurgency and violence, in partnership with other agencies.
On Sept. 7, the Rizal PPO became the first police provincial office in the Calabarzon (Cavite-Laguna-Batangas-Rizal-Quezon) region to receive an "Institutionalized" status in the Conferment of Performance Governance System (PGS).
The PGS is described as a holistic and collaborative framework for designing, executing, monitoring, and sustaining roadmaps for reform.
The Rizal PPO received the Silver Eagle Award after garnering 91.11 percent in the evaluation.
The "institutionalized" status of Rizal PPO is geared towards the attainment of the plans and programs of the PNP's PATROLPLAN 2030.
