QC, Camanava LGUs hold medical missions on PBBM’s birthday


The local governments of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (Camanava), and Quezon Cities conducted “Lab For All” medical missions on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in celebration of the 66th birthday of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The medical mission in Caloocan City was held at Galino Covered Court in Barangay 102, Caloocan City-South.

The Caloocan local government, in collaboration with national agencies, organized the "Lab For All" event, benefiting 1,000 residents in the southern part of Caloocan City.

In August, First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos organized the Lab For All event, which served approximately 5,000 individuals from Caloocan City-North.

The 1,000 beneficiaries received free medical and dental consultations, immunization, services that addressed sexually transmitted infection (STI), vital sign-blood pressure testing, laboratory tests such as chest x-ray, electrocardiogram (ECG), and eye checkup.

The LGU also provided P2,000 financial assistance for chosen beneficiaries.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan greeted the President on his birthday.

"Happy birthday to our President BBM! We are delighted to be a part of your birthday celebration by serving our fellow countrymen," Mayor Along said.

"Una pa lamang po, prayoridad na natin ang mga programang may kinalaman sa kalusugan. Nakita po natin na isa ito sa mga serbisyong talagang dapat makuha ng mga Batang Kankaloo kaya ang mga serbisyo po ng Lab For All ay talagang angkop sa kanilang mga pangangailangan (Right from the start, we are prioritizing programs related to health. We have seen that this is one of the services that the people of Caloocan really need, so the services of Lab For All really address their needs)," the city mayor added.

Malapitan also pledged a strong collaboration between his administration and national government agencies to guarantee the efficient delivery of services to the city residents.

"Mananatili pong matatag ang ating pakikipagtulungan sa pamahalaang nasyunal upang patuloy pang mapalakas ang ating mga sariling proyekto, kasabay pa ng mabilis at maayos na pagbababa ng mga pambansang programa para sa kapakinabangan ng ating mga mamamayan (We will maintain our strong partnership with the national government to further strengthen our local projects, along with the swift and efficient implementation of national programs for the benefit of our citizens)," Mayor Along said.

As an early birthday present for PBBM, the city government had previously planted 1,200 Caballero trees along Saranay Road.

The Malabon City LGU also held same program for in celebration of President Marcos' birthday at Malabon Amphitheater on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Among the services offered were dental service, nutrition program, sanitation division program, immunization, Covid-19 vaccination, medical consultation for all ages, and pharmaceutical services.

They also offered family planning programs such as intrauterine devices (IUD), contraceptive implants, oral contraceptives, condom provision, and planning counseling, and adolescent health programs such as human papillomavirus vaccination for nine to 14 years old.

Other health services such as random blood sugar testing, cholesterol screening, and risk assessment were also offered in the said event hed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Navotas City LGU also held the event at Navotas Sports Complex on the same day.

Free medical consultation, medicines and  PhilHealth Konsulta registration were given  by the city government to the residents.

The local government of Valenzuela City conducted a medical mission giving optical, dental, and family planning services at Sitio Kabatuhan Covered Court, Barangay Gen. T. De Leon.

Around 2,000 Valenzuela residents benefited from the event, Valenzuela City Public Information Office said.

The Quezon City LGU also conducted the same program in Barangay Pasong Tamo in the city.

Around 200 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries received services, including oral exams, oral prophylaxis, tooth extraction, and permanent and temporary filling.

They were also educated on how to maintain good dental health.
