"The Health Caravan is our way of reaching people who, otherwise, find it challenging to access primary health care services because of logistical concerns, such as the distance of their homes to the health facility," PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard "Dick" Gordon said in a statement on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

During the event, 40 persons with mobility impairment and senior citizens received wheelchairs, and 120 acquired free eyeglasses.

Hot meals, meanwhile, are served to those who participated in the event.

PRC said that 14 volunteers from RC143 (official app of the PRC) and the PRC's barangay-based volunteer network assisted in organizing the event.

Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang, for her part, highlighted that many people come to PRC's health caravans to get medical services and other services, such as first aid education, Covid-19 vaccination, as well as free items, like eyeglasses.

The event was jointly organized by the PRC Rizal Chapter, RC of Makati F. Zobel, RC of Angono, and the Church of Latter-Day Saints last Sept. 9, through the help of eight volunteer medical doctors and two volunteer nurses.

Moreover, Angono Mayor Jeri Mae E. Calderon, Angono Municipal Councilors Dokdok Villanueva, and Elena Ibañez attended the event.
