Pasig LGU extends PAG-ASA scholarship application deadline
The Pasig City local government announced on Wednesday, Sept. 13, the extension of application period for the “Private Education for the Advancement of the Grassroots through Academic Scholarship Assistance Program” or PAG-ASA program.
The deadline for submission of applications has been extended from Sept. 13 to Sept. 15, Friday.
"Online application forms and hard copies of the requirements must be submitted to the PCS Office on or before 05:00PM on Friday," the advisory read.
It also said that the Pasig City Scholarship Office (PCS) has started reaching out to applicants who already passed the requirements but have deficiencies in their submitted papers.
"Such deficiencies must likewise be acted upon on or before 5 p.m. of September 15, 2023," it added.
The PAG-ASA scholarship program, which was launched last Sept. 6, seeks to financially assist underprivileged and indigent first year students in private higher education institutions (HEIs) and technical vocational institutions (TVIs).
Based on the program, scholars will receive no more than P35,000 per semester until the completion of their courses. It will cover expenses for tuition, school fees, and a fixed allowance for books, supplies, and other miscellaneous costs.
The scholarship is only open for incoming first year students who have been successfully admitted to the listed priority programs in Arellano University (AU) - Pasig Campus and Pasig Catholic College (PCC).
Applicants must be Filipino citizens and bona fide residents of Pasig City, or at least have resided in the city for two years.
They must also be included in the list of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) or have a monthly household income of less than P30,000.
A student who wants to apply must not currently be under other scholarships or study grants.
Details on the requirements and process for applications can be viewed on the city’s official Public Information Office (PIO) social media page.
