Minor arrested for carrying 'sumpak' in Muntinlupa

The police arrested a minor after he was caught in possession of an improvised firearm or “sumpak” in Muntinlupa on Sept. 12.

According to the Muntinlupa police, personnel from the Poblacion Substation arrested the 16-year-old suspect in Phase 2 Francisco Demesa St., Southville 3, Barangay Poblacion.

His arrest came after the police received a report about a suspicious person allegedly seen with the improvised weapon.

The arriving police saw the suspect standing in an alley and holding a weapon. They approached and apprehended him.

During the arrest, the police confiscated a “sumpak” and one live shotgun ammunition from the suspect.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to Batas Pambansa 881 (Omnibus Election Code).
