'Habagat' rains to prevail in most of PH; LPA trough affects parts of Luzon --- PAGASA
Isolated rains due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat" prevail in the western portion of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao based on the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Cloudy skies with a high chance of rain showers due to "habagat" are expected in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, La Union, Pangasinan, and Benguet.
PAGASA also said that for Visayas and Mindanao including Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), SOCCSKSARGEN, scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunder also due to southwest monsoon are expected.
Meanwhile, PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda said that cloudy skies with scattered rain showers will be experienced in Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon due to the trough of the low pressure area (LPA).
"Kaninang alas tres, 'yung low-pressure area na minomonitor natin ay huling namataan 610 kilometers East of Itbayat, Batanes (Earlier at 3:00 a.m., the low pressure area that we are monitoring was last seen 610 kilometers East of Itbayat, Batanes),” Castañeda said.
“Nananatili 'yung tyansa nito na maging bagyo ngunit 'yung trough o extension nito ngayong araw ay magdudulot pa rin ng maulap na kalangitan at mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog dito 'yan sa silangang bahagi ng Central at Southern Luzon (There is still a low chance for it to develop into a tropical cyclone, but its trough or extension still causes cloudy skies with scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunder in western portion of Central and Southern Luzon),” she added.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said other parts of Mindanao may also experience isolated thunderstorms that may cause moderate to heavy rain showers.
The weather state bureau warned against possible flash floods and landslides.
In the next three days, Metro Manila will experience isolated rainshowers due to "habagat" and localized thunderstorms as per the weather forecast of PAGASA. (Lizst Torres Abello)
