5,000 QCitizens get AICS cash aid


A total of 5,000 Quezon City residents received cash aid under the national government’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program that was distributed by Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 11 and 12.

The beneficiaries who received P2,000 cash from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the office of Senator Revilla were from the city’s second, fifth, and sixth districts.

The AICS is one of the national government’s social service that provides financial, medical, burial, transportation, education, and food assistance and other services to individuals/families affected by different crises such as fire and flood.

Belmonte thanked the senator for choosing the city and its residents as the beneficiaries of the cash aid.

Also present during the distribution were Quezon City Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, Councilors Candy Medina, Aly Medalla, Godie Liban, Dave Valmocina, Alfred Vargas, Ellie Juan, Dorothy Delarmente, Vic Bernardo, Banjo Pilar, Irene Belmonte, and Barangay Tandang Sora Kagawad Cocoy Medina.
