Arevalo awarded the Gold Cross Medal to 10 soldiers who took part in key operations against the New People’s Army in Negros and Bohol Islands.

Of the 10 Gold Cross medals, five were officers. The recipients were from the 94th Infantry Battalion (IB), the 47th IB, and the 62nd IB.

Five enlisted personnel from the three Army units were also awarded with the same medals.

Arevalo, a former 3rd ID commander, awarded the soldiers during an official visit at the headquarters of the 302nd Infantry Brigade in Tanjay town, Negros Oriental.
