QCPD nets close to P800,000 illegal drugs, 159 law violators in anti-criminality ops


The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P799,496 worth of alleged “shabu” and marijuana and collared 159 drug suspects and law violators in a series of anti-criminality operations conducted in the city on Sept. 3-10.

The QCPD Holy Spirit Station (PS 14) arrested three suspects identified as Dennis de Leon, 41; Tohami Ali, 23; and Angelo Duhay Lungsod, 19 , all from Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City. The suspects yielded a total of P301,200  worth of alleged marijuana.

PS 14 launched the entrapment operation against the suspects along Himalayan Road in Barangay Pasong Tamo at around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, after receiving information from a concerned citizen about their illegal drug trade activities in the area.

During the operation, a policeman posed as a buyer and purchased P12,000 worth of alleged marijuana from the suspects , which led to their arrest.

Seized from them were 2,510 grams of the illegal drug worth P301,200, and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, different QCPD Stations launched a total of 26 anti-illegal drug operations from Sept. 3-9, which led to the arrests of 50 drug suspects (25 users and 25 pushers) and the confiscation of 71.26 grams of shabu and 114.4 grams of marijuana valued at P498,296.

They also conducted an operation called the “Manhunt Charlie” that aims to locate and serve warrants of arrests to wanted persons during the same period.

Some 53 individuals were collared including 17 who were listed as most wanted persons.

The QCPD said they conducted 22 anti-illegal gambling operations which resulted in the arrest of 50 persons for violating the law, and in the confiscation of several gambling paraphernalia and P5,965 bet money.

It added that they also nabbed three suspects in three operations against loose firearms. 

Appropriate charges will filed against the arrested suspects.

QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the police operations were launched to step up the simultaneous anti-criminality campaigns through the implementation of search warrants, buy-bust operations, and other special police interventions in the city.

“Our weekly anti-criminality operations are a testament to our dedication to public safety through 24/7 police visibility, foot, bike, and mobile patrol throughout the entire Quezon City. I express my profound gratitude to the men and women of QCPD for their continuous support in making the city safe and secure against all forms of criminality,” Maranan said.
