President Marcos has extended the moratorium on payments of amortizations on agrarian debt of farmer beneficiaries to another two years.

Marcos signed Executive Order on Tuesday, Sept. 12, which extends the executive order he signed last year that gave farmers a one-year moratorium on payments of amortizations.
The new order will extend the moratorium on the payment of the principal obligation and interest of the amortization due and payable by agrarian reform beneficiaries for the lands awarded to them under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program of the government.
It will take effect until Sept. 13, 2025.
Some 129,059 beneficiaries tilling 158, 209, 94 hectares of land whose land awards did not reach the cut off period of July 24, 2023 will benefit from the new EO.
According to Marcos, the agrarian debt moratorium extension will further enhance the capabilities of farmer beneficiaries to make their farms productive by providing them with needed financial resources they can use for farm inputs and equipment that will help them increase farm yields and farm incomes.
In his speech, the President explained that the new EO will include beneficiaries who were not covered by the EO signed last year.
The EO was signed in ceremonies held in conjunction with the promulgation of the Implementing Rules and Regulation on the New Agrarian Emancipation Act held at the Department of Agrarian Reform office in Quezon City.
