Stell Ajero, lead vocalist and primary choreographer of well-loved P-pop boy group SB19, was surprised to be part of 'The Voice Generations,' the newest spin-off of the world's biggest singing competition on GMA Network.

"Noong in-offer sa akin ang project na ito, sabi ko na lang sa sarili ko, talaga? Like, nakikita na nila ako as coach ng The Voice? Kasi never in my wildest dream na makikita ko yung sarili ko sa chair na yun. And to be part of an amazing set with coaches Julie Ann, Billy and Chito, grabe ina-idolize po yan ng mga parents ko," said Stell, when asked about being one of the coaches for the singing contest, during an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on Sept. 12.

(When this project was offered to me, I just said to myself, really? Like, they already see me as a coach of The Voice? Because never in my wildest dreams would I see myself in that chair. And it's amazing to be with coaches Julie Ann (San Jose), Billy (Crawford) and Chito (Miranda), who my parents idolize.)

And I'm very happy and overwhelmed and super blessed na napapaligiran ako ng mga sobrang kilalang tao and sobrang talented nila."

(I am very happy, blessed and overwhelmed that I am surrounded by popular and talented personalities.)

Fellow SB19 members Ken, Josh, Pablo and Justin cheered when Stell became part of The Voice Generations. "Sabi nila sa akin Stell kapag hindi mo pa tinanggap ang project na yan, hindi na namin alam ang gagawin nam in sa'yo."

(They told me, Stell, if you don't accept that project, we don't know what we will do with you.)

Stell, 28, became more selective with projects after joining SB19.

"Bilang part ng SB19, sobrang mapili po ako sa mga projects na pwede kong tanggapin. Gusto ko i-prioritize yung group muna. So nasa SB19 ako, ang gagawin ko muna is SB19 first. But when this project came to me, sabi ko, 'bigatin 'to. Hindi ko alam paano ito ite-take.

(As part of SB19, I am very selective in the projects I can accept. I want to prioritize the group first. It's SB19 first. But when this project came to me, I said, it was heavy. I don't know how to take it.)

"But with the help of my group, my team, and my family, sila ang nagpakita at magparamdam sa akin na you really deserve that spot. So kunin mo na. Binigay nila sayo yan dahil alam mong kaya mo yan and dapat tanggapin mo ng buong puso," he said.

(With the support of my group, team, and family, they have shown me that I deserve the spot that was given to me. Therefore, I should grab the opportunity and accept it wholeheartedly. They believe in my ability to succeed and that's why they chose me for it.)

Stell said that he and the rest of SB19 couldn't be happier when their fanbase dubbed A'TIN won the 2023 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off last Aug. 9. He said there would be no SB19 without their solid fans.

"Kung gaano kami ka thankful and overwhelmed sa support nila nasabi na namin. Yung mga ganung klase na nangyayari sa career namin like nanalo ng award and na-acknowledge kami not here in the Philippines but also international, it's ll because of them.

(We have already said how thankful and overwhelmed we are for their support. Those kinds of things that happen in our career like we won an award and were acknowledged not here in the Philippines but also internationally, it's all because of them.)

"Kung hindi talaga sila naniniwala sa amin before, baka walang SB19 ngayon. Lahat ng ginagawa nila para sa amin, super na appreciate namin. But also we do our part to showcase our skills, na ipakita yung kultura ng Pilipinas, gaano ka talented ang mga Pinoy, how we love our culture, our roots, yun po ang pinapakita namin at sila na ang gumagawa ng ibang bagay which is pag promote na rin sa group namin which we really love," said Stell.

(If they didn't really believe in us before, maybe there wouldn't be SB19 today. Everything they do for us, we really appreciate. But also we do our part to showcase our skills, to show the culture of the Philippines, how talented the Pinoys are, how we love our culture, our roots, that's what we're showing and they're doing something else which is promoting our group which we really love.)

During an appearance on "Fast Talk" in July, Chito praised Stell and SB19 for their talent.

"Ang pagkakakilala ko lang kay Stell is one of the members of SB19. I'm familiar with SB19 and sobrang fan ng work nila. As individuals, I didn't know them.

(I only recognize Stell as one of the members of SB19. I'm familiar with SB19 and a huge fan of their work. As individuals, I didn't know them.)

"Tapos nung na-meet ko si Stell, he was just a guy from SB19, never pa kami nag talk but we got to hang out like pictorial and everything, everything that he does is so entertaining, and everything he says is humble and may wisdom na pambata.

(Then when I met Stell, he was just a guy from SB19, we never talked but we got to hang out like pictorial and everything, everything that he does is so entertaining. All of his words are humble and possess a childlike wisdom.)

"Yung hindi nagmamarunong? Makikita mo kung gaano siya ka hardworking at kung paano niya purihin yung mga kasama niya sa group," said Chito.

(He does not pretend he knows many things. You can tell how hardworking he is and how he praises his group mates.)
