House Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has basically confirmed Senator Christopher "Bong" Go's account of what happened during her recent "informal meeting" with fellow former president Rodrigo Duterte.

"I think Senator Bong Go already disclosed what happened," read Arroyo's terse statement to House reporters on Tuesday, Sept. 12 when asked about what went down during the meeting.

Aside from Arroyo, Duterte, and Go, former Senate President Vincente "Tito" Sotto III was also present at the gathering, which reportedly took place two weekends ago.

Read Go's earlier statement on the meeting: "Inanyayahan ni dating pangulong Gloria Arroyo, sa pamamagitan ng kanilang mga staff, sa isang impormal na pagkikita si dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na nasa Maynila noong panahong iyon."

(Former president Gloria Arroyo, through her staff, invited to a meeting former president Rodrigo Duterte, who was in Manila at that time.)

Go, who was with Duterte at that time of the invite, described the event as a "simple and happy" meeting among public officials who served in different positions during the previous administration.

"Sa nasabing pagkikita, kinukumbinsi din ni dating pangulong Arroyo si dating pangulong Duterte na maging aktibo muli sa pulitika (In the meeting, former president Arroyo tried to convince former president Duterte to once again become active in politics)," Go added.

Arroyo is currently Pampanga's 2nd district representative.
