Two girls aged three and eight died of suffocation during a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay 155, Dagupan Extension, Tondo, Manila on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the fatalities were sisters who were trapped inside a room on the third floor of a residential building during the blaze.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire reached the first alarm at 4:24 p.m. It was declared under control at 4:24 p.m. and was extinguished at around 5 p.m.
Authorities are still conducting investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
