In observance of year's World Suicide Prevention Day, the Department of Health (DOH) took to its Healthy Pilipinas, Health is Life campaign Facebook page with a message centered around the theme "Together we can #BeTheLight."

The DOH emphasized the importance of taking action to create a world where suicides are less prevalent.
World Suicide Prevention Day, observed every Sept. 10, serves as an annual reminder to "raise awareness" about suicide and its prevention, providing a platform for organizations and individuals to come together to promote mental health, offer support, and work towards a world where suicide is a rare occurrence.
“Sa bawat tao na dumaranas ng krisis, maaring may isang buhay na maililigtas sa tamang pagtugon at pang-unawa (For every person going through a crisis, there may be a life that can be saved through the right response and understanding),” DOH stated.
Healthy Pilipinas stressed the significance of understanding the appropriate steps and signs that can lead to providing crucial assistance.
The DOH has made it even more accessible for those in need by providing free helpline numbers in collaboration with the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH). These helplines are aimed at assisting individuals during their most trying moments. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
