PCSO donates mobility devices, medical equipment to LGUs of Manila, Rizal

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) on Monday, Sept. 11, announced the turnover of medical equipment and mobility devices to the local government units (LGUs) of Cainta Rizal, and the Third District of Manila.

PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles and PCSO Director Janet De Leon–Mercado spearheaded the handover event to Barangay Sto. Niño, Cainta Rizal's LGU, held at the Sun Plaza Building in Mandaluyong City.
The donation comprises 25 wheelchairs, 10 walkers, and 10 canes, which were received by the Chairman of Barangay Sto Niño, Gian Carlo Cruz on Aug. 31.
Cruz thanked the PCSO General Manager and President Marcos, and he vowed that the donations are dedicated to the poor and ill residents of the barangay.
"Those are diabetic, stroke patients, and residents undergoing dialysis in our barangay," Cruz said in Filipino.
Meanwhile, PCSO Executive Assistant VI Arnold "Bong" Arriola led the medical equipment and mobility devices turnover ceremony to the Third District of Manila.

Barangay 345 Chairwoman Irene Benito attended the ceremony to represent City Councilor Maile Atienza.
"On behalf of Councilor Maile Atienza, I am pleased and thankful to the PCSO," she said.
"These will be allocated and distributed to the senior citizens and PWDs (persons with disabilities) in our area, particularly to the residents of the third district of Manila," she added.
The donation is composed of 50 wheelchairs, 10 canes, 25 blood pressure (BP) apparatus, and 25 glucometers.
The initiative is under the agency's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and aligned with the PCSO's mandate to " reach out and assist the poor, especially our fellow Filipinos who are ill," PCSO noted.
