According to the police, Baldoza was arrested for attempted homicide, trespassing, grave threat, and illegal possession of a deadly weapon in violation of the Omnibus Election Code.

Baldoza, the police said, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and assaulted victims Reynaldo Estrella, 59, and Emerald Estrella, 35, with a spear, resulting in an injury on Estrella’s left hand.

The incident was believed to have stemmed from a long-standing dispute between them. The situation escalated that their respective family members had to intervene and subsequently seek police assistance.

Police officers arrested Baldoza and confiscated a 44-inch long spear from him. The suspect and the weapon were turned over to the Pateros police’s Investigation and Detection Management Section (SIDMS) for further investigation.
