Singer-songwriters KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde garnered attention on social media as they shared moments from their second intimate wedding ceremony, which took place on Aug. 28, 2023. This joyous event not only celebrated their third wedding anniversary but also included their cherished loved ones. But what makes their second wedding more special?
Modern wedding ensemble
It is customary for brides to don traditional wedding attire, such as a veil, form-fitting gown, and strappy heels. KZ Tandingan chose to defy traditional norms by opting for a modern embroidered barong, adorned with a line from their song "Simula" that says "Pag-ibig ating punla." This one-of-a-kind barong was skillfully crafted by talented young designer Kelvin Morales.
The ancestral-aesthetic venue
Couples who appreciate a minimalist approach to their wedding celebrations may find inspiration in TJ and KZ's choice of venue. Pio's Kitchen, as indicated on its website, offers a unique atmosphere with an abundance of antique elements, ranging from lamps to ceilings, providing a clean and rustic ambiance. The intimate dining establishment takes its name from the beloved saint, Padre Pio, and is conveniently situated in the heart of Quezon City.
Minimalist wedding cards
To complement the aesthetic ambiance of the venue, Papillon by La Belle Fête designed custom white printables, including menu cards, place cards, and vow books. These elegant and personalized stationery items perfectly embody the couple's minimalist style, serving as a reminder to brides and grooms that stationery doesn't have to be overly intricate to make a statement.
Symbolic blooms
Choosing flowers to add to a big day might not be a big deal to all brides, but picking the right flowers to incorporate into a big day adds a more special to each couple's photos. KZ chose more white roses which are more popular for wedding celebrations. White roses symbolize eternal loyalty, purity, and young love.
The towering multi-layered cake
KZ selected a multi-tiered white cake as the delightful centerpiece for the wedding reception. Enhancing the cake's elegance are adorable little orange flowers made by James Uy.
Mico Gonzales captured stunning photographs of the wedding ceremony, showcasing its beauty. Kelvin Morales designed exquisite embroidered barong and outerwear, while LSW provided elegant innerwear. Pio's Kitchen catered the reception, providing a delicious dining experience. Cakes by James Uy created a stunning cake adorned with orange flowers. Charrize Angelique Gaddi worked as the event stylist, adding elegance to the venue. Papillon by La Belle Fête provided beautiful printables. La Belle Fête expertly handled the concept, planning, and coordination of the wedding, while Jessa Azurin managed the after-party coordination.
