Caraga cops net P271,000 shabu

CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police seized suspected shabu worth more than P271,000 and arrested six drug pushers in the Caraga region over the weekend.

PRO-13 Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Major Jennifer S. Ometer said suspects were categorized as street-level individuals in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao del Norte.

“The suspects were arrested during separate buy-bust operations and search warrants,” Ometer said. “All arrested suspects will face charges for violation of RA No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft has ordered all regional, provincial and city mobile force commanders, as well as provincial and city directors and municipal chiefs of police to conduct a no-nonsense drive against illicit drugs.

“These continuing good accomplishments are the result of the PNP and community partnership in an intensified campaign against illegal drugs,” Kraft said. “Through multi-sectoral collaboration, we will never falter in our quest of arresting those involved in the illegal drug trade.”

“Rest assured that our concerted efforts will not stop until the drug suspect falls,” Kraft added.

Meanwhile, police arrested two top most wanted persons for rape in Surigao City and Butuan City over the weekend.

Suspects were nabbed on arrest warrants issued by the court in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, Ometer said.
