Two motorcycle-riding men involved in two robbery holdup incidents in Barangay Santolan, Pasig City were arrested by police officers on Sept. 7.
Pasig Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. identified the suspects as “Adrian,” 29, and “Rusty,” 30; both from Antipolo City, Rizal.
Based on the police report, the suspects onboard a motorcycle allegedly held up and robbed two men who were waiting for a ride along Cruzada corner Pasco Avenue at around 5:20 a.m.
Police said the suspects were armed with a handgun and kitchen knife.
The belongings of the 22-year-old and 35-year-old hair and makeup stylists, including a cellphone, and a wallet containing P5,000, were “forcibly taken,” said the police.
Afterwards, the suspects fled to Mejico Street where they reportedly robbed a 34-year-old senior recruitment coordinator who was also waiting for a ride in the area.
Police said one of the suspects pointed the knife at the victim and took his mobile phone.
The three victims reported the incidents and sought assistance from the Manggahan Police Substation (SS8).
Personnel from SS8 and the Barangay Santolan Security Force conducted a manhunt operation, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Police recovered an Armscor caliber .38 revolver, a kitchen knife and stolen cellular phones from the suspects.
The suspects and the evidence were brought to the Pasig Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation.
They are facing charges for robbery and violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act,” in relation to the Omnibus Election Code or the Commission on Elections (Comelec)’s gun ban.
